Would This Kind of Event Work Here in Rockford?

Here in Rockford, we've shown ourselves to be very open-minded when it comes to trying out sports and/or games that are popular in other countries, but do we have enough hearty, adventurous souls around here to take on the very British Cheese Rolling Race? I think we do, although at this point in my life, I'm not one.

I mean, we've totally embraced bocce ball, kubb, hurling, and rugby ("totally embraced" actually means that if you look hard enough, you'll find someone who plays), but are we ready for the rough-and-literally-tumble "sport" of the cheese rolling race?

First, we'll need a big hill. No problem. From the stateline on down, you'll find plenty that would work. Next, we'll need several wheels of cheese. Again, not a problem, what with Wisconsin being within yodeling distance.

The biggest need to filled would be the need for some borderline crazy men and women (kids are excluded from the event for obvious reasons) who will want to go for broke chasing the aforementioned cheese wheels down the steep hill with no thought for their own safety.

Let me know if you're up for the Rockford Cheese Rolling Championships, I'll happily bring the cheese.
