Your NUIC Week 8 Football Preview

Week eight will feature key games in the NUIC. Forreston, 6-1 plays at 5-2 West Carroll. And Dakota, 6-1 host Eastland/Pearl City, 4-3.

The states 1A top-ranked and unbeaten Lena-Winslow visits Durand/Pecatonica. Galena is at Amboy. The Pirates have never had a winless season in school history. The previous worst record was 1-8 in 1975. If Galena doesn't get a win over Amboy. The season finale will pit Du/Pec at Galena with both teams possibly looking for their first win.

In the Upstate, Aquin 6-1 is at Stockton, 5-2. Both are unbeaten in the Upstate and playing to take over first place outright. Polo is at Ashton/Franklin Center and Milledgeville visits River Ridge. In a crossover game, East Dubuque is at Orangeville. And in a non-conference game, Warren is looking for their first win of the season as they host South Beloit (1-6).

Austin Guy of Orangeville in a win over Kirkland Hiawatha had an outstanding game. In his debut switching from quarterback to running back, Guy had 327 rushing yards and seven touchdowns.
