There's no doubt that the last few years have been pretty tough on America's malls. In order to survive, some are coming up with unusual attractions.

Take for instance, East Rutherford, New Jersey’s American Dream Mega-Mall. Fifteen years and billions of dollars in the making, the mall opened its first phase, the Nickelodeon Universe Theme Park, in October. The rest of the facility, which spans 3 million square feet is rolling out new attractions over the next several months.

The latest unveiling was their Big Snow Indoor Ski Resort last week.

Take a look. Is this sort of thing something that Rockford and our surrounding areas would enjoy and support? A quick straw poll around the office here found that there were far more thumbs up than thumbs down on the idea.
