One Dead In Hit-And-Run Crash on Rockford’s Northwest Side

One person is dead after a vehicle-versus-pedestrian crash on Rockford's far northwest side.

According to a press release, Rockford Police Department and Rockford Fire personnel responded early this morning to an incident in the 3800 block of Elmwood Road. Arriving officers found the vehicle involved had fled the scene.

Officials say a 31-year-old male had been struck and was suffering from life-threatening injuries. He was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. The name of the deceased is being withheld until his family has been notified.
