The NUIC proved once again that they are the dominant small football Conference in the State. Saturday the NUIC swept all five 1A playoff games. They also won in 3A with  Du/Pec. They won six of seven. The only loss West Carroll in 2A to the state's second-ranked team Minook Fieldcrest 20-8. West Carroll actually led 8-6 going into the final quarter. The Thunder finished the season 5-5.

1A. Coach Ric Arand notched win 200 of his career at Lena-Winslow as they rolled over Aurora Christian 46-8. Running back Sean Ormiston had 230 yards rushing and scored three touchdowns.

At Pretzel Stadium Aquin outscored Fulton 55-38. Stockton beat Princeville on the road 20-7. Stockton host Aquin (10-0) in a second-round playoff game Saturday.

Orangeville (7-3) stayed hot as they were the first team to keep Chicago Hope scoreless this season in a 32-0 victory. Garret Rodebaugh had 159 yards rushing with three touchdowns. The Broncos will now host their first playoff game since 2001 Saturday as they meet Lena-Winslow (10-0) the top-ranked team in the State.

Forreston (8-2) had no problem with Ottawa Marquette 42-7. Forreston now host Annawan-Weathersfield (10-0) and a number one seed in the second round.

3A. The first playoff game since 2000 at Legion Field in Durand Saturday. The Du/Pec Rivermen played their first playoff game ever as a Coop and whipped Chicago Harlan 44-12. They had to wait to start the game as Harlan was late going to the wrong school. The Rivermen now play at Byron in the second round.

In other playoff games involving Stateline schools. In 1A Kirkland Hiawatha beat A-Avon 44-6 and Morrison had a 56-8 rout of Cambridge. In 2A Sterling Newman defeated Orion 28-13. In 3A Princeton beat North Boone 61-26. and Byron beat Rock Island Alleman 50-28. In 4A Marengo blanked Manteno 48-0. Stillman Valley beat Dixon 32-6. Genoa Kingston smacked North Chicago 44-0 and Richmond Burton rolled over Chicago Urban Prep 56-6. In 5A Sterling blasted Chicago Heights Marian 56-14. Boylan shutout Hyde Par4k 49-0 and Sycamore beat Evergreen Park 59-7. In 6A Belvidere North was sidelined by Lake Forrest 21-14. In 7A Auburn was whipped 49-0 by Arlington Heights Hersey. Harlem was eliminated by Wheaton Warrenville South 50-23. Dekalb lost a scoring shootout 55-53 to Mt. Prospect. In 7A Hononegah beat Fox Lake Grant 43-17.

On Friday Blackhawk/Warren Coop won their playoff game 40-6 to stay unbeaten in 11 outings. They move on to what they call Level 3 hosting River Ridge WI Friday night.

In 8 man football Polo had a first-round bye and River Ridge beat North Fulton 48-0. Now Polo plays Lowpoint-Washburn and River Ridge host Schlarman.
