Illinois Extends Basketball Coach Through 2026

The Illini are enjoying their best basketball season in 15 years and Brad Underwood has been rewarded. 

At 20-9 and 12-6 in the Big Ten, Illinois has spent multiple weeks in the top 25, have a chance at a Big Ten title, and have Champaign buzzing like it used to during the Deron Williams, Dee Brown, and Luther Head era of the mid-2000s. Not only that but the Illini have a top 10 recruiting class coming to town next season.

Brad Underwood has restored the passion for Illinois basketball in Champaign and AD Josh Whitman wants to keep the party going for a few more years.

The Illini take the court again this Thursday night in Columbus against the Buckeyes and then wrap up the season against Iowa at home this Sunday.
