Did Rockford’s James Robinson Just Lose His Starting Job?
Despite having a stellar rookie season, Rockford Lutheran's James Robinson might not have locked up the starting position.
Thursday night's NFL draft was one of the best for local Chicago Bear fans. For the first time in team history, the Bears selected a QB in the first round and their fans are excited about it.
The Bears made the biggest splash in the draft, trading up 9 positions with the NY Giants to take (the) Ohio State QB Justin Fields. Ryan Pace and Co. running a competent draft was NOT what any Bears fan was expecting. I think that "Not angry" was the best most were hoping to feel after the draft. Instead, there was a random bust of cheers in the middle of the White Sox game.
I went to bed a little earlier than I expected, actually happy with the Bears.
When I woke up this morning, I saw that James Robinson was trending. The Jaguars and selected a running back with the 25th pick. Travis Etienne was regarded as the best player still available, but Jacksonville seemed to be strong at the running back position, while having some severe weakness at other positions.
They already signed a "backup" in the offseason.
Jacksonville has a new head coach in Urban Meyer. This is his first draft choice and it is drawing a bunch of criticism.
If you would like to show your support for James Robinson, you can purchase one of his brand new bobbleheads that were just released by the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame. His next one could be in a different jersey.
