One has already made his mark in the NBA, the other begins his NFL journey.

Fred VanVleet and James Robinson will be remembered as legends in the Rockford high school sports annals. Now, the rest of the country is getting a taste of these talents.

Fred led his Auburn basketball team to a deep run in the IHSA tournament before leading Witchita State to a deep NCAA run before being an integral part of a Toronto Raptors title last year.

James Robinson rushed for an IHSA record 9,045 yards and 158 TDs while at Lutheran before earning All-American honors while rushing for over 4,000 yards at Illinois State before being named the starting running back for the Jaguars.

Fred takes the court Friday night for a Game 7 against the Celtics to earn a spot in the Eastern Conference Finals. VanVleet has been averaging 18.5 pts, 5 rebs, and 6.5 assists while playing 42 minutes per game in the series. He will be a factor tonight. Game 7 tips off at 8 PM tonight on TNT.

Robinson takes the field as a rookie starter against the Colts this Sunday afternoon. Robinson moved up the depth chart to starter when Leonard Fournette was released during training camp. The Colts and Jags kickoff at noon this Sunday. Unfortunately, according to this map:

...the game will not be broadcast in the Rockford area, so you will need to have the NFL Sunday Ticket if you want to watch Robinson at home this Sunday, or drive to a friend's place in Peoria as downstate Illinois will be getting the Jags-Colts game.

Good luck guys! You have the entire Stateline supporting you.
