It was a very eventful winter sports season in the Stateline area.

We've been following all winter sports every week here at 1440 WROK and awarding one team each week our Team of the Week award and a $100 Visa gift card to use towards their program.

We've seen State Champions and unlikely underdogs both win over the last 3 months but now it's time to see who was the best of the best.

We've gathered up all 12 of our weekly winners and pitted them against each other for one final poll to see who can get the most votes at the end of the season.

The team that gets the most votes will be named Team of the Winter and receive a $500 Visa gift card courtesy of Rock Valley College.

Here are the teams up for the final vote. Make sure you get your vote in below. Voting will close this Sunday night March 20th, at midnight.

  • East Boy's Basketball - Coach Roy Sackmaster
  • Harlem Boy's Swimming - Coach Todd Mueller
  • Freeport Wrestling - Coach Anthond Dedmond
  • Rockford Christian Girl's Basketball - Coach Ted Lawver
  • Hononegah Girl's Basketball - Coach Jason Brunke
  • Hononegah Boy's Basketball - Coach Matt Miller

A massive thank you to everyone that voted this year leading up to the final week. It's been fun chronicling the Stateline sports scene through the weeks.

And of course a HUGE thank you to Rock Valley College for sponsoring this contest all winter. A great local school that has a ton of opportunities for any student just leaving high school or actually anyone that wants to further their education.

Good luck to all the competing schools! We look forward to seeing you all back in action next year.
