As a long-time Rockfordian, I've often said that if I had a dollar for every time I've heard someone say "There's nothing to do in Rockford," I'd have a pile of money so high it would have snow on it, and Sherpas would be attempting to make it to the top. The problem with the common complaint of nothing going on in Rockford is: it's simply incorrect.

So many groups, organizations, and individuals work very hard to make sure that for the visitor, Rockford has much to entertain you during your visit, and for the resident, there's lots of great things to keep you here.

You don't have to take my word for it, either. Lots of people turn to online travel sites for information about someplace they're going to visit, so let's see what one of the top travel information sites, Trip Advisor, says are our "Top Ten Things to do in Rockford:"

  1. Anderson Japanese Gardens
  2. Discovery Center Museum
  3. Nicholas Conservatory and Gardens
  4. Coronado Performing Arts Center
  5. Midway Village and Museum Center
  6. Burpee Museum of Natural History
  7. Sinnissippi Park
  8. Klehm Arboretum & Botanic Garden
  9. Frank Lloyd Wright's Laurent House
  10. Rockford City Market

And really, that's just the tip of the Symbol, er...iceberg of cool things that we have to offer:

Still think that there's nothing to do in Rockford?
