Soccer first – NIC-10 girls race ends in three-way tie
Freeport, Boylan and Guilford wrapped up the NIC-10 soccer season each at 8-1. There have been several shared titles through the years. This marks the first time that three teams staked a claim.
For Boylan, it was the 29th title it has won outright or shared since the NIC-10 adopted it as a sport in 1987. The title was historic for Freeport and Guilford. For the Vikings, it was the fourth in school history and the first since 1998. For the Pretzels, it was the first girls conference title - outright or shared - in Freeport history.
IHSA playoffs begin this week.
