Packer Fans Will Be Allowed Into Home Playoff Game
The Packers will get a little more home-field advantage in the playoffs.
The Packers announced today that they will allow some season ticket holders in to watch the first Packers playoff game this postseason next weekend. Capacity will be capped at 6,000 people.
Packers.com - Approximately 6,000 tickets will be available for purchase by season ticket holders who opted in. Seats will be arranged in socially distanced pods of two, four and six tickets throughout the stadium. Prices, set by the NFL for playoff games, will range from $127 to $177, based on location; a service fee from Ticketmaster also will be charged.
(NOTE: I absolutely love how the season ticket holders opted in before the season, they know everyone who is coming because they're season ticket holders. It should all be able to be handled in house. But the STILL need to include Ticketmaster and their fees.)
In addition to the 6,000 season ticket holders, members of the front-line medical community and first responders will also be guests of the team.
Not a season ticket holder and want to score one of these tickets on the secondary market? Too bad. Reselling of tickets will not be allowed and mobile ticketing will be the only option.
The Packers will host the winner of this weekend's Tampa/Washington matchup either next Saturday or Sunday.
Speaking of having fans in the stands for the playoffs, have you heard Sean Payton's idea to get 50,000 fans into the Superdome for the Saints/Bears game this Sunday?
That's right he wants to test and quarantine 50,000 fans. Stash them in hotels and then bus them to the Superdome to root on the team.
Sean is a great football coach but this might be one of the dumbest ideas I've ever heard. You can tell the reporters think he's joking, but when they ask a follow-up question, Payton just doubles down on the seriousness.
Just example 1,234,426 of how football coaches are on a totally different wavelength than the rest of the world.
