Lutheran lone local survivor in baseball regionals
The Crusaders are the last Winnebago County baseball team standing.
The Lutheran Crusaders knocked off Boylan, 3-0, Saturday to win the IHSA 3A Lutheran
regional title. It is the fifth regional title for Lutheran and first time in school history that it's won consecutive regional titles.
Harlem, whose coach Scott McCloy started his day by appearing on WROK's Stateline Sports Hour at 7 a.m., fell to Huntley, 1-0, in the Hononegah 4A regional. It was a strong run for Harlem's sophomore heavy squad.
Stillman Valley fell to Sterling in the 3A Rochelle regional. In 1A, Freeport Aquin is still alive after knocking off Forreston, 1-0, in the Lena-Winslow Sectional final.
