Sports Illustrated released its rankings of the 100 best players in the game today and it shows the National League Central should be a two-team race.

Here are the NL Central players in S.I.'s top 100:

92. Matt Carpenter, Cardinals
91. Willson Contreras, Cubs
80. Jose Quintana, Cubs
72. Kyle Hendricks, Cubs
70. John Lester, Cubs
53. Yu Darvish, Cubs
51. Tommy Pham, Cardinals
49. Carlos Martinez, Cardinals
45. Marcell Ozuna, Cardinals
39. Christian Yelich, Brewers
37. Lorenzo Cain, Brewers
23. Anthony Rizzo, Cubs
5. Joey Votto, Reds

So, if you're keeping score, the Cubs have seven of the top 100 players, the Cardinals four, Brewers two, Reds one and the Pirates zero.

The American League Central lacks the NL Central star power. Judging by SI, the Indians are the clear favorites with six of the 11 top players.

68. Byron Buxton, Twins
