There are certain events that you just can't have summer without. Chief among those events is Alpine Kiwanis Brat Days, coming up Friday, July 17th, and Saturday, July 18th. The Alpine Kiwanis will be celebrating "Over 40 Years of Giving."

100% of the profit from Kiwanis Brat Days is given directly to non-profit organizations and area youth in the form of scholarships in addition to national disasters.  The Alpine Kiwanis Club has given more than $1,500,000 to help those in need both locally and internationally.

If you've lived in this area for more than just a short while, you're probably very familiar with one of the Rockford area's most popular and well-attended events. If not, here's a couple of details from their press release:

The Alpine Kiwanis Club of Rockford announces their annual BRAT DAYS, Friday, July 17 from 11:00AM-8:00PM and Saturday, July 18 from 11:00AM-6:00PM.  The two day event will be held at three locations: Edgebrook Center, Schnucks on E. State St. and Schnucks on N. Alpine & Harlem Rd.   Each site will feature live entertainment.  Drive-thru service available at the two Schnucks locations.

Also, those who crave a brat for breakfast (c'mon, don't be weird about it, it's sausage for breakfast! Not that out-of-the-ordinary), Friday, July 17th, is when the Alpine Kiwanis have "Take Your Brat to Work Day." A drive-thru will be set up at the North Alpine and Harlem Schnuck's location (only) from 6am-9am. Breakfast brats are $3.00.
