When you hear Jim Nantz say the words "A tradition unlike any other," you probably think of the Masters golf tournament. When you hear someone in Rockford say it, especially a member of Alpine Kiwanis, it can mean only one thing. Brat Days.

In case you're one of those people who doesn't have Alpine Kiwanis Brat Days permanently added to their calendar, I'm here to remind you that one of Rockford's favorite events is scheduled for this Friday and Saturday.

There are a couple of changes this year that you should be made aware of, just so you don't show up at a former location for Brat Days festivities. Brat Days will be held at Edgebrook Center on North Alpine, a location that has played host to Brat Days for many years, and two new locations. One is at the former Menards store parking lot at Highway 173 and North 2nd Street frontage road, with the other being in the K-Mart parking lot at East State Street and Mulford.

Ticket prices are $6.00 in advance and $7.00 on-site (day of) and include choice of Johnsonville Brat, a ¼ lb. All-Beef Johnsonville Hot Dog, Meatless Barbeque, Vegan/Vegetarian Brat, Mrs. Fisher's Chips plus Pepsi products and water. Brat Days will also feature another favorite once again this year: drive-thru service at the Menards and K-Mart locations.

You can even stop by to grab a breakfast brat (or several, if you're hoping to raise your popularity level at work) Friday morning from 6am-9am (drive-thru only) for $3.00 at the Menards location.

All three locations will also feature live entertainment, too.

100% of the profit from Brat Days is given directly to local non-profits, to area youth for scholarships and to local and national disasters. The Alpine Kiwanis Club has given more than $1,000,000 to help those in need both locally and internationally.

I'll definitely see you there!
