The Wolves didn't really put up a fight. Let's see if the Moose want any of this.

After sweeping the Chicago Wolves in three games to win their opening round the IceHogs move one step closer to the Calder Cup. They go north of the border this weekend to start their second-round matchup with the Manitoba Moose. (BTW, IceHogs vs. Moose is why I love the minor leagues so much).

As the lower seed, the IceHogs will begin on the road and then return home next Wednesday. The schedule looks like this:

  • Game 1 - May 4 at Manitoba - 7PM CT
  • Game 2 - May 5 at Manitoba - 4PM CT
  • Game 3 - May 9 Manitoba - 7PM CT
  • Game 4 - May 11 Manitoba - 7PM CT
  • Game 5 - May 12 Manitoba - 6PM CT (if necessary)
  • Game 6 - May 15 at Manitoba - 7PM CT (if necessary)
  • Game 7 - May 16 at Manitoba - 7PM CT (if necessary)

Now if you're like me you might not know where Winnipeg (home of the Moose) is. Don't be ashamed, it's Canada, they should be happy we can point out the country on the map. Luckily for you I did some Googlin'.

As you can see it's right there above the North Dakota/Minnesota border. It's also 12 hours away. Without bathroom breaks. That's a long way to drive. You should just wait to catch Game 3 here in Rockford.

If that's the sort of thing that interests you, you'll want to check out the special deal we have going on at the radio station. $11 gets you a ticket to see the hottest action in town. A great deal for a great team. Head on over here for all the details and GO HOGS!
