You may have heard that there was a wee bit of celebration going on in Chicago (and countless other Illinois cities and towns, including Rockford) Wednesday night. The Cubs had just won the World Series. Thousands and thousands of people hit the streets to rejoice in the victory, and the Chicago PD had their hands full.

I don't want to be one of those bitter, old, "back-in-my-day-everything-was-better-than-it-is-now" kind of guys, but...it seems that there used to be a lot more creativity in Halloween treats than we have today.

Everywhere you look, you're seeing "Back to School" signs. Sure, that's your hint to get out and spend a full paycheck on school supplies, clothing, and accessories for your kid(s), but it also means you have just a short period of time to get out and be a tourist one more time before the summer comes to a close. Illinois has you covered.

Ever since I was a kid and saw the Academy Award winning documentary "Scared Straight," I've had a pretty simple goal: Don't go to jail. Period. Full stop. However, it's difficult to avoid trouble with law enforcement if you aren't aware of the goofy little things that can be illegal in one municipality but not another. When folks in Pelham, New Hampshire reflect back on the primary of 2016, they'll think about who won (Trump and Sanders), who lost (everyone else), and a giant pig that decided primary day in the Granite State was a great day to make a break for it. Maybe the unnamed pig just wanted to be the first one at the farm to cast a vote.

Not a lot of details to this one, other than it's video shot somewhere in Russia (which has really become the world's epicenter of strange videos). We don't know what Mr. No Pants was charged with, but apparently Russian law enforcement has no problem with suspects wandering around behind the booking desk...

Unfortunately, football referees have been in the news lately for all the wrong reasons. A couple of incidents where the refs have been targeted for a hit by players on the field have resulted in suspensions, expulsions, and even the threat of arrest for those who did the hitting...
