Stateline wrestlers began with first-round matches and quarterfinals Thursday in Champaign. Wrestling continues Friday with the finals Saturday.

1A. Dakota was 8-2 on the day. They won all five matches in the first round. Maddux and Phoenix Blakely at 113 and 120 and Andrew Wenzel 170 all are 2-0 and into the semifinals. Aiden Nardin at 160 and Evan Riggle 182 both lost in the quarterfinal round after winning their opener.
For Lena-Winslow/Stockton Garrett Luke at 106,  Marey Roby 132, Simon Rillie 145 and Jason Hermann 152 all won their opening match but fell in the quarterfinals. Also heading to the wrestle backs losing first round were Jaden Rice at 126, Winston McPeek 138, Case Harmston at 170 and Dillon Raab at 113.
Advancing for Byron into the semifinals both 2-0 are Peyton Lind at 220 and Tyler Elsbury 285.
Winnebago's Carlos Sanchez at 126 and Bryce Faworski at 160 won both and are into the semifinals.
For Stillman Valley, Donovan Crumpacker got a 6-2 sudden victory at 113 and then won in the quarterfinal. Aiden Livingston won at 120 in the first round but dropped his quarterfinal. Logan Jennings lost by a pin at 182 in the first round.
West Carroll's Ethen Doty is on to the semifinals at 132 with first period wins in the first round and quarterfinal.
Polo's Marcus McKenna fell 10-6 at 160 in his opener.
2A. Freeport.
Markel Baker 113, Matt Chavers 182 and Isaiah Batteast 285 are all rolling into the semifinals 2-0. Tyler Calam had a 14-0 major decision at 106 and then lost in the quarterfinal. Keondre Jackson after an opening-round win fell in the quarterfinal.
Dathan Wickson of Boylan at 152 lost his first-round match 5-2.
3A. The only NIC-10 winner in 3A was Tony Figueroa of Hononegah who won his first-round match 4-2 at 182.
Belvidere Coop's Presley Beasley at 120 and Antonio Alvarado at 126 dropped opening round matches. For Rockford East Eh Ta Sor at 113 and Joey Pineda 285 both lost in the first round.
