The Rock Valley College faculty union will return to work on Tuesday after approving a Federal Mediator's suggested agreement to resolve contract negotiations.

The Register Star reports that the vote on Monday night followed some confusion on whether or not the faculty voted on the correct proposal on Sunday, when they rejected the Mediator's proposal.

A press release from RVC confirms that the union intends to end its strike and that all classes will resume as scheduled. The Board of Trustees will take up the approval of the agreement based on the Mediator's suggested agreement at its regular meeting on Tuesday night.
