Forreston after their first loss in two years bounced back Friday. They beat Dakota, not a huge big surprise. But, it's the way they did it dominating 40-0.

The Cardinals ranked third in the State are at fifth ranked Eastland/Pearl City in a big NUIC Northwest showdown next Friday. Forreston set the tone early. A.J Christensen scored the first of his three touchdowns on the first play from scrimmage for the Cardinals on a 62-yard run. Evan Kelsey on the next series rambled 66 yards and the blowout was on. Gavin Fuchs led with 107 yards rushing for Forreston who had 363 total yards rushing and never threw a pass.

E/PC, shutout Durand/Pecatonica 48-0 and have now outscored foes 144-7 in their three wins.

The States top ranked 1A team Lena-Winslow after the big win over Forreston had a 59-0 rout of East Dubuque. In the other Northwest game, West Carroll defeated Amboy 28-6.

In the Upstate, Aquin defeated Ashton/Franklin Center 42-19 as quarterback Jonah Diemer threw for five touchdown passes. Stockton edged Milledgeville 22-20. And Orangeville shutout Warren 46-0.

In the crossover game, River Ridge beat Galena 8-3. In the non-conference game, Polo blasted Edwardsville-Lutheran 55-6.
