DEKALB, Ill. (AP) — Northern Illinois University has announced a new athletic facilities master plan.

The DeKalb school includes three new athletics facilities for baseball, tennis and Olympic sports. It also includes upgrades to the softball field, the soccer and track and field complex and the NIU Convocation Center. Huskie Stadium would receive renovations as well. Those would include premium suites and club seating.

NIU officials say they'll work with the campus, the community and donors to move forward with the plan. It's the first at the school since 1991. The school says it worked on the plan with the sports architectural firm AECOM Sport + Venue.

Creation of the plan included meetings with NIU coaches and campus officials and a Huskie Stadium seating survey.
