We take a one-game departure from the NIC-10 to get a look at one of the best teams in the state.

Lutheran is 10-0 (7-0 in Big Northern) and ranked #7 in 2A in the latest MaxPreps poll They beat Indian Creek, a top 5 1A team, last week.

The Crusaders are led by Zach Derus, their leading scorer and member of the 1,000 point club. Small frame but high energy. Scored 32 points against Indian Creek.

They are taking their ranking and undefeated season on the road to Winnebago where they will match up against the Winnebago Indians. The Indians are in second place in the Big Northern conference with a 6-1 conference record. The Crusaders are the better team on paper, but anything can happen when a high school basketball team goes on the road.

Joe Dredge and Dave Perrone will be on the call for the game. Special guest Todd Heidemann will be on the call. Todd is the public address announcer for the Lutheran Crusaders He's a longtime Rockford basketball guy and knows his stuff, especially all things Lutheran. It's going to be a great game.
