Head To Downtown Rockford This Weekend To ‘Shop The Blocks’
Shop The Blocks, an event that draws visitors to restaurants and retailers in downtown Rockford, happens on the third full weekend of June, July, and August.
And, one of the great reasons to head downtown for Shop The Blocks is that many retailers and restaurants have some really cool promotions and deals for you.
“Business owners are the heart of downtown Rockford,” said Missy Minnaert, River District Association Executive Director. “We are helping promote their unique products and services all summer long through an integrated marketing campaign. We’re asking people to buy local and support local businesses,” said Minnaert. “If you spend $100 at a local business, roughly $68 stays in our local economy. If you spend the same at a large business, only $43 stays in the local economy. Be ‘Proud to be Local’ with your shopping!”
Eat, Shop and Play in the River District for our Shop the Blocks 2019 series all day during each participating store’s business hours on the following days:
Friday, June 21 – Saturday, June 22
Friday, July 19 – Saturday, July 20
Friday, August 16 – Saturday, August 17
