Shop the Blocks

Shop The Blocks, an event that draws visitors to restaurants and retailers in downtown Rockford, happens on the third full weekend of June, July, and August.

This morning, Leah Tuneberg, Executive Director of Rockford's River District, stopped by the WROK Morning Show to fill us in on what promises to be yet another outstanding downtown event.

Since we're now officially into the summer season, we thought it would be a good idea to start shining the spotlight on all the fun that can be found during the summer months around the Rockford area. Rockford's River District seems like a good place to start.

I just got a note from our friend Leah Tuneberg, executive director of Rockford's River District Association (RDA), reminding me that today(Friday, August 5th) is another "Shop the Blocks" day in downtown Rockford.

Hot on the heels of last weekend's fun event, the River District 12 (a 12 hour bicycle tour of the River District that drew cyclists from all over the area), Rockford's River District has another great event (decidedly less physically exerting) this Friday.
