If someone offers you a great deal on a bulldog puppy, you might want to call the Aurora Police Department.

That's because they're on the lookout for a guy who grabbed up a bulldog puppy (with a price tag that might make you gasp) at the Furry Babies pet store in the Fox Valley Shopping Center.  .

From the Daily Herald:

Police said the man entered the store around 1:40 p.m. Wednesday, picked up the puppy from its crib while employees were waiting on other customers, and ran away. The employees chased him through an adjacent department store as he fled the mall through the upper level doors and then ran across New York Street to a restaurant parking lot. He got into a silver SUV and drove away.

Wow. I guess I didn't realize that a dog could cost 6 grand. And, since some obviously do carry a price tag like that, how about posting a few guards around?

Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call police at (630) 256-5500 or Aurora Area Crime Stoppers at (630) 892-1000.

Speaking of expensive dogs:
