Complete List of Illinois Applebee’s Data Breach And Timeline
On March 2, 2018, Applebee's owners (RMH Franchise Holdings) announced a payment card data breach (or "data incident) at several of their restaurants throughout the United States, including 15 locations in Illinois. The Applebee's in Dekalb was one of the restaurants affected. Possible information jeopardized include guests’ names, credit/debit card numbers, expiration dates and card verification codes.
In a notice on RMH's corporate website,
RMH Franchise Holdings (“RMH”) recently learned about a data incident affecting certain payment cards used at RMH-owned Applebee’s restaurants that we operate as a franchisee. We are providing this notice to our guests as a precaution to inform them of the incident and to call their attention to some steps they can take to help protect themselves. RMH operates its point-of-sale systems isolated from the broader Applebee’s network, and this notice applies only to RMH-owned Applebee’s restaurants.
Card users that might have had their information comprised at Dekalb's Applebee's were guests between December 6, 2017, through January 2, 2018.
