There's no denying that the low, low price of $1 for a ticket to a major league baseball game is probably the best deal you'll find for attending a professional sporting event anywhere in the United States.

That's especially true when you take a look at what the average price of a ticket to a 2023 MLB game costs for the 2023 baseball season.

According to Statista.com, these are the 5 MLB teams with the most expensive ticket (on average) for the current (and about to come to an end) season:

  1. LA Dodgers: $209
  2. New York Yankees: $186
  3. Boston Red Sox: $170
  4. San Francisco Giants: $144
  5. Chicago Cubs: $141

The Chicago White Sox come in 13th place overall for the most expensive ticket on average at $113. The cheapest tickets in MLB on average can be found in Miami, where they average $69 per ticket.

An average ticket to a Triple-A minor league baseball game in 2023 came out to be only a buck cheaper than the Marlins, with a cost of about $68.

The Chicago White Sox Are Selling Tickets To Their Game Thursday Against The Arizona Diamondbacks For One Dollar--Here's What You Need To Know

You can thank inclement weather for Thursday's low ticket prices at Guaranteed Rate Field. NBCSportsChicago.com:

The White Sox were originally supposed to play the Arizona Diamondbacks on Monday at Guaranteed Rate Field, but with heavy rain pounding New York over the weekend, the team’s Saturday game against the Yankees had to be pushed back to Monday.

As a result, Monday’s game between the Diamondbacks and White Sox was moved to Thursday, with a 1:10 p.m. first pitch at Guaranteed Rate Field.

To sweeten the deal, the White Sox are throwing in free parking around the stadium for that game. Tickets went on sale on Monday, and sales will continue while supplies last. I just checked the White Sox website at 9am this morning (Tuesday, 9/26), and there are still $1 tickets available.
