On the Riley & Scot Show, we've discussed my reluctance to fly many times. I used to love every moment of the experience, but a couple of rough flights and landings over the years served to temper my enthusiasm greatly. As a matter of fact, the video below highlights my least favorite part of air travel, the takeoff.

The Paris Airshow begins this coming Monday, so, as you might imagine, preparations and rehearsals have been well under way for the last couple of weeks.

From ABC News:

Boeing pilots took the company's new 787 Dreamliner on a vertigo-inducing test flight, complete with a dizzying climb off the runway, a new video shows.

In the clip posted on the company's YouTube channel earlier today, ahead of the Paris Air Show starting on June 15, Boeing’s expert crew are seen rehearsing the stomach-church aerobatic display that will be performed at the air show.

The aircraft took off from Washington and performed a medley of advanced maneuvers.

Boeing’s website described the Dreamliner as a jet that “applies breakthrough technologies to an all-new airplane design. The advanced features of the 787 increase efficiency, simplify airplane ownership and operation, and significantly improve the air travel experience.”

Now, about that takeoff...

Before you (actually, before I) freak out, Boeing is quick to point out that the ascent for passengers is not nearly as extreme as you saw in the video.

Good thing. I don't believe that the airplane carries enough wet naps to clean up the mess some people (me) would make.
