Veterans Day Flag Raising at Rockford University

Just got a note from Rockford University with an invitation for one and all to join them for a Veterans Day flag-raising ceremony tomorrow morning, at 7:30, at the flagpoles near Nelson Hall on the Rockford University campus. The event is sponsored by the Jane Addams Center for Civic Engagement.

The opening prayer and moment of silence will be led by Professor Elaine Sharpe. The Rockford Police Department Color Guard will raise the flag and Rockford University's Vocal Collective will sing the national anthem. The Pledge of Allegiance will will follow.

After the flag-raising ceremony, attendees are invited to join in the breakfast at the dining hall. All veterans will receive a complimentary breakfast.
