Biggest Freshman Class Ever Enters Rockford University

Starting this year at Rockford University is the largest freshman class in the school's history.

Growing up, my parents always strongly suggested to me that I would be going to college. I was all good with that even though I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with my life.

When looking at schools,  I settled on Illinois State. I really enjoyed my experience there. I think at times, my social life was more important than the education. Despite that fact, I graduated and I found a career that I love. I was hoping for that same kind of experience for my daughter.

I've never had to worry about my daughter and her education. She excelled starting at a young age. Since she was little, her dream was to become a teacher. In middle school, she found out about the Rockford Pathways program for Rockford University through the Rockford School District. That's when she decided where's she would go to college.

Those dreams came true last week when she started her freshman year at Rockford University. I was so proud and happy for her. Apparently, she wasn't the only student that had the goal of attending school there.

According to rrstar.com,

"All signs point to one of the healthiest enrollment years in the past 20 years. About 210 freshmen attending Rockford University this fall, a 31% increase over last year’s freshman class. But even with that record-breaking enrollment spike, Rockford University is looking to have about 1,300 students on campus this fall and about 340 living in residence halls."

That's awesome news. I'm excited to hear that so many people are supporting our local university. It's great for our community.
