The White Sox Will Play ‘The Sandlot’ To Honor The Film’s 25th Anniversary
First of all. IT'S BEEN 25 YEARS SINCE THE SANDLOT CAME OUT?????.
Second of all. This looks like a pretty cool event.
SunTimes - In honor of the baseball classic’s 25th anniversary, the White Sox will join a league-wide celebration of “The Sandlot” with a special screening at Guaranteed Rate Field. The White Sox will play “The Sandlot” on the centerfield video board after their home game against the Athletics on June 23.
This is like watching Jaws on the beach or Terminator in a dystopian future. It will definitely enhance the movie.
I'll be completely honest, this movie didn't speak to me as much as it did other people my age. I guess I was just more of a Little Giants kind of guy. (Is there anything Ed O'Neill can't do?)
This is part of a league-wide "Sandlot" appreciation tour so this won't be the last time someone will make a "You're killing me smalls" joke this summer but it will be worth it.
If you want to feel even older, take a look at what everyone looks like today.
