Rockford's Main & Auburn roundabout is getting a makeover! After reducing accidents, the city is reversing a previous change and restoring the roundabout to its original two-lane configuration. The 'calming cones' will be removed starting September 3rd. Some residents are excited, while others remain cautious.

On Sunday, June 2nd, at 4PM, Rockford crews will begin work to reduce the Auburn and Main roundabout from two lanes to one.

People have some strong opinions about them.

When I was driving past the roundabout at Auburn and Main Street over the weekend, I noticed the large U.S. flag flying at half-staff and wasn't exactly sure of the reason.

On two occasions, I've been hit by another driver while going through a roundabout. I'm amazed at the number of drivers who just don't get it.

Last week we told you about the coming efforts to beautify the area around the North Main and Auburn roundabout, also known as Veterans Memorial Circle.

The daylong planting marathon is this Saturday, the day before Mother’s Day, and will be a massive beautification project for the roundabout at North Main and Auburn streets.
