An event I always look forward to checking out will be happening very soon. That event, of course, is The Illinois Snow Sculpting Competition!

Details from our friends at The Rockford Park District:

The Illinois Snow Sculpting Competition (ISSC) is held annually in Rockford, Illinois and hosted by the Rockford Park District. The 29th ISSC will be held January 14-17, 2015. Teams from around the state will compete for the right to represent Illinois at the U.S. Nationals Snow Sculpting Competition in 2016. High schools from northern Illinois will also compete in the Rockford Area High School Snow Sculpting Competion, January 15-17, 2015. As many as 40,000 visitors will view these massive works of snow art this year.

Seriously, if you've never taken in the ISSC, do yourself a favor and get over to Sinnissippi Park to check it out.
