The Auburn grad's hard work finally results in a big payday.

Fred Van Vleet wasn't big enough to get any offers from major schools. He then went on to lead Wichita State to their most successful season in school history.

He went undrafted after college. Then after being sent up and down between the D-League and the NBA he helped the Raptors secure the best record in the Eastern Conference and was second in the Sixth Man of the Year Award.

Now it seems that Fred finally has some believers. All the hard work paid off in the way of a 2-year $18 million contract.

The Raptors president Masai Ujiri told the Toronto Star "He's our player and I love him."

Congrats to Fred. It sounds like he'll have a home north of the border for quite some time.
