Rockford Girl Arrested As Part of Andreayah McBain Death Investigation
Police announced today they have arrested and charged a 15-year-old Rockford girl as part of the investigation of the death of Andreayah McBain, who's burned body was found in rural Stephenson County in October 2015.
According to the Rockford Police, the 15-year-old girl has been arrested and charged with concealment of a homicidal death and obstruction of justice. She is currently being held at the Winnebago County Juvenile Detention Center.
The charred remains of McBain, 15, of Rockford, were found Oct. 27, 2015 in a yard in the 10000 block of East Greenfield Road. According to police records, she had been reported as a runaway to the department Oct. 27.
Police say the 15-year-old girl and Natheon Hanson, 28, of Rockford, were with McBain at a residence in the 1000 block of Chamberlain in Rockford prior to her death.
According to a press release from Rockford Police Department, McBain overdosed on drugs while at the residence. The release states Hanson and the other girl transported McBain's body to East Greenfield Road where they burned it.
Hanson committed suicide during a traffic stop in Jerome, Ill., on Nov. 12, 2015.
