Illinois Cop Delivers Food Following Delivery Driver’s Arrest in Hilarious Video

This is probably not what you're expecting when you order food to be delivered to your home.

A police officer in Illinois is being commended after he delivered a resident's food order after the driver was involved in a traffic stop.

The Bloomington Police Department recently shared a video on social media showing one of its officers delivering food to a home.

The footage, which is taken from the officer's body camera, shows the moment the resident opens her door to see a cop holding a bag of food from Chipotle.

"Here's your food. Your driver got arrested," the officer tells the person who answers the door.

The officer explains that he wanted to drop the food off after a traffic stop allegedly involving the driver.

"We were wondering why it was taking so long," a voice is heard saying in the background.

The Bloomington Police Department said in its post that his is far from the first time they've had an officer deliver food after a delivery driver could no longer finish their route.

"We apologize for the less than hot food, but appreciate the shoutout commending our officer's extra efforts on this call!"

Resident Has Questions After Cop Comes To Her Door

The resident who opened the door has since responded to the video sharing her experience from that night when a police officer unexpectedly showed up with her food delivery.

"If only you could see my reaction once the door was closed... I lost it," Erica Renee posted in the comments. "I went from asking a million questions to having a million questions."

And while the whole incident may have been rather puzzling, she says she still "appreciates" the officer dropping off the food.
