Just got a note from our old (longtime) friend John Strandin at the Workforce Connection with an invitation for any and all who are interested in a career and training in high-demand industries here in northern Illinois.

The Workforce Connection has lined up some information sessions this Thursday, June 4th. Details include:

“Open Doors to New Careers” will feature employers discussing career opportunities and the training needed for individuals to be hired in the customer service, manufacturing and computer technology fields.

The event is being held at the Regional Design Center in Rockford at 315 N. Main Street and is open to the public. 

The times for the info sessions are as follows:

• Customer Services Careers—9:30-10:45am
• Manufacturing Career Panel---11:15am-12:30pm
• Computer Information Technology Careers---1:30-2:45pm

Those interested in pursuing these careers are invited to attend as many sessions as they would like. Training providers will be on hand to discuss educational opportunities and representatives from The Workforce Connection will provide information about financial aid and scholarships.
