One of Illinois’ Best Buffalo Wing Joints isn’t far from Rockford

I was kind of caught off guard when I saw Rockford didn't have a spot on the list of restaurants featuring the best buffalo wings.

Then I thought about it a bit more and kind of realized, I'm not sure we have a place that is best for buffalo wings.

Not saying the offerings in the Forest City for buffalo wings are poor, I just couldn't think of a go-to wing destination off the top of my head.

So as I scrolled through the list I noticed one place that's not really too far from Rockford.

I guess that depends on who you ask though. 60 miles in the car for something that is labeled as one of the "best buffalo wing" joints in Illinois is certainly worth the time, and gas money for me to check out.

Only In Your State put together the 9 Best Places for Buffalo Wings in Illinois and second on the list was a place in Mendota, roughly 60 minutes from Rockford.

Thursday nights at this restaurant are for wings. Stop by between 11 a.m. and 2 a.m. for amazing flavors that can't be beat. This spot has been serving up some of the best buffalo wings since 1989.

Only In Your State is referring to Main Street Station, 714 Main Street in Mendota.

Besides the wings, which seem like a huge deal at Main Street Station, they also pretty much make a sandwich out of everything.

I either need to get out more or this is the only restaurant I've ever come across that turns a Chicken Cordon Bleu into a sandwich. Sounds amazing, and maybe my next road trip eating destination.
