NUIC Week 1 Picks And Preview

Here are the Stateline Sports Hub media picks for week one. Last year Al Zipsie of the Stateline Sports Hub and Terry Werntz former head coach at Dakota and Freeport tied for best record. Zipsie won the tiebreaker. The first year in 2017 Cody Cutter of the Sauk Valley News was the winner,

The NUIC is down to 14 teams, so this year seven games are picked every week for a total of 63. The first week games are crossovers between the North and South. Warren who joined defending state champion Blackhawk for a Coop in Wisconsin, won their first game ever together 38-7 on Friday.

This year's Stateline Sports Hub eleven-member media panel all return in Zipsie, Werntz, Cutter along with Joe Dredge WROK/Stateline Sports Hub, Kyle Kampmier of the NUIC Football Fanatics. Matt Trowbridge of the Rockford Register Star/Freeport Journal-Standard, Mike Buda WIFR TV, Scott Leber WTVO TV, Pete Leinweber of Deep Dish Football and Tim O'Hallaran, Edgy Tim. And the newcomer Derrick Mason of Townsquare Media, formerly sports writer with the Rockford Register Star/Freeport Journal-Standard. He fills the spot of Shane Klever of NUIC Football Fanatics.

West Carroll at Galena. All but Zipsie have West Carroll.

Milledgeville at Stockton. Stockton unanimously.
