NUIC football has announced realignment starting next season. The league goes down from 17 teams to 14. As Polo and River Ridge exit for eight-man football and Warren joins a Coop with a Wisconsin school. Too many schools were driving by other schools to get to play Conference games. The leagues were based on larger and smaller school Conferences. Now the leagues will be the North and South. Both 7 team leagues. All three crossover games will be based on enrollment. North. Galena. Lena-Winslow. Orangeville. Stockton. Dakota. Durand/Pecatonica. East Dubuque. The South will be Ashton/Franklin Center. Amboy/LaMoille. Eastland/Pearl City. Milledgeville. West Carroll. Aquin. Forreston. This should renew some old rivals playing each other again.

Stateline Sports Hub. Media picks panel. Last week the best records were Matt Trowbridge and Terry Werntz, both going 7-2 in an unpredictable week. Trowbridge was the only one taking E/PC over Lena-Winslow and Galena over Mt. Carroll. Werntz was the only one who had East Dubuque over Amboy and also joined Zipsie as only two of three on the panel who had South Beloit beating A/FC. Zipsie leads by two games as Werntz moved into second place. Tied for third are Trowbridge, Cutter, and Leber.
