Midwestern Boy With Cancer Has A Special Request For All Police
Jeremiah Derks, 12, was diagnosed with cancer in July. He's now going through chemotherapy and finding joy in law enforcement.
This young fan of law enforcement is from Kokomo, Indiana, and it appears the visit from his local sheriff's department really turned him into a huge fan. Howard County deputies paid Jeremiah a visit recently and also made him an honorary deputy. It wasn't long after that a Kokomo police officer stopped by and gave Jeremiah a patch too. And that's where this little cancer fighter's request began.
Jeremiah is to build a huge collection of law enforcement patches and possibly turn them into a large quilt.
