Congressman Adam Kinzinger (IL-16) joined us on the show this to discuss the evolving ISIS threat and his proposal for an alternate Authorization For Use of Military Force Bill that he's proposed in the House.

Kinzinger told us he was concerned about limitations on time and tactics in the proposal the President put forward. He says war strategy requires flexibility and Congress should not tie this or a future president's hands at a time when the ISIS threat is growing even more powerful and dangerous.

We also discussed the current DHS funding bill working its way through the Senate. The House already has approved its version, which also seeks to block the President's recent executive action on immigration. Kinzinger warned that if a funding bill isn't signed into law the Republicans will be blamed. He says the media will paint the GOP as the party that just took control of the Senate and House but still can't govern.
