Known for his innovative sentencing, Judge Cicconetti believes that there are ways other than incarceration to impose justice and teach a lesson at the same time.

Recently, two women were brought into his courtroom. One was charged with stiffing a cab driver of a $30 fare, the other was charged with pepper-spraying another patron at a fast-food restaurant. He could have fined and jailed both of them, but instead, he offered an alternative:
