Jay Cost on Big Government and the Rise of American Political Corruption [AUDIO]

Jay Cost of The Weekly Standard joined the show this week to talk about his new book "A Republic No More: Big Government and the Rise of American Political Corruption".

Cost has been a top political analyst for nearly a decade. He got his start writing at RealClearPolitics.com and previously spoke with us about his first book, "Spoiled Rotten," a critical history of the Democrat party.

In his newest work, Cost chronicles the history and future of political corruption in America.  As Republicans retake control of Congress and both parties eye the 2016 election, Cost argues politicians of both parties are making the system worse. He told us corruption today is so widespread that our government is not so much a republic, but rather a special interest democracy. And the worst part is the people are supposed to be a check on this abuse of power, but far too many are disillusioned and don't believe any difference can be made in the process.
