As you may be aware, this week the Illinois House passed a budget bill that is more than 7 billion dollars in the red. To put that into perspective, our state's backlog of bills is already at 7 billion, this budget would surge the backlog to nearly 15 billion. If you're one of the non-profits, schools, or other vendors already dealing with a payment delay, this move would add an extra 8 to 9 months to your wait.

The woman in charge of paying the state's bills, Illinois Comptroller Leslie Munger, joined Michael Koolidge and me this morning here on WROK to give her perspective on the anger and confusion in Springfield over the House budget:
