If you're a fan of the movie Kingpin, or if you're simply a fan of great amateur athletes, this weekend the Cherry Bowl is the place to be.

The very best high school bowlers from across Illinois will be on hand to take part in the IHSA State Finals. It's the 22nd consecutive year that the Rockford Region is hosting the event.  The two-day tournament takes place at the Cherry Bowl in Cherry Valley on Friday, February 21 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

There are a total of 24 teams and 28 individuals who will bowl two rounds per day, with three games per round.  The Rockford Area Convention & Vistors Bureau estimates the state finals have a $100,000 in economic impact to the area. Not too shabby.
