It was wonderful to talk this morning with one of our favorite guests on the program, Hugh Hewitt. You can catch his show Saturdays from 6 to 9 p.m. here on WROK and keep up to date with his latest work at his website.

Hugh just wrote a great column reflecting on the increasingly likely chance that Mitt Romney decides to run again for President. Now, Romney doesn't seem like an ego guy to me, so my big question about the reports is why he would go through this process all over again. As Hugh wrote in a piece for the Washington Examiner:

I told Politico that I believe Romney would run for genuinely patriotic reasons — he believes the country needs his abilities and he can beat Hillary — and I don't doubt many other would be GOP nominees make the same assessment, thus a crowded field will result. The voters will decide who is best to take on Hillary, win, and right the country.

We also spent time discussing what attribute the eventual nominee should have, whether possible candidate Gov. John Kasich would be most harmed by the entry of Jeb Bush and Romney in the race, and if Hugh trusts Sen. Mitch McConnell to guide the Senate. And yes, we spent time celebrating his Buckeyes and quibbling over who might win the A.L. Central in 2015.
