Riley and I had a wonderful conversation with Fox News' Bret Baier this morning about "Special Report," his upcoming Hillary Clinton interview, and most importantly his new book, "Special Heart".

Special Heart is Bret's personal story of caring for his critically ill newborn son who was born with five congenital heart defects. He relives three open-heart surgeries and seven angioplasties along he way, and the story continues his family contines the road toward a normal healthy life for Paul.

We asked Baier about his son's long-term prognosis and why he decided to write the book:

[Paul] turns seven on June 29th. He's doing fantastic. The tallest kid in his class. He's got a lot of energy. The reason I wrote the book is hopefully to be an inspiration. Everybody has something...something to deal with. And this is how we got through our something.

Also of note, 100 percent of what Baier receives from the sale of this book is donated to various non-profit pediatric heart causes.

Baier actually worked in Rockford at WREX for about a year in the mid-90s. Riley says he recalls hanging out with him at a few parties. Here's our full interview:
