ROCKFORD, Ill. (AP) — Federal law enforcement officials say they have arrested at least 10 Rockford-area gang members on gun- and narcotics-related charges.

Ten men were arrested Wednesday on charges including selling cocaine and conspiring to possess and sell stolen firearms. They will appear before a U.S. magistrate judge and remain in federal custody pending hearings.

Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives officials say they've been working with local authorities to investigate firearms and cocaine trafficking in the area for a year. They say the arrested men are affiliated with the Latin Kings gang.

ATF Agent Thomas Ahern says officers also seized cocaine, numerous firearms and 500 rounds of ammunition.
